I think Dee shows a very healthy level of skepticism here.
And, ahhh…. I so do love a good belly laugh like that. :)
I hadn’t planned it, but it was nice when Alida immediately brought out a more tender side to Vachel. Writing can be such a strange process of discovery.
It can be a challenge to force the written word to make the sounds one desires. “Aw-heyyy” being said when he was about to say “awake” I think worked particularly well.
Sensitive moments cannot last long when one is easily distracted.
I feel a great tenderness and nostalgia for some of the feelings of my childhood, and it’s strips like this where I feel I captured them. I was always a contemplative one.
It’s always good to know who exactly is in charge.
Why question reality if it’s terribly pleasant?
I’m a strong believer that when feverish, you have earned the right to have very weird dreams.
I have friends like Vachel, who I’m sure will still not be able to stop talking a mile-a-minute on their deathbed.
This is one of the rare Little Dee strips where I make some commentary on politics in the US, though perhaps it’s more merely a social commentary on our culture as a whole.
