@Neil, from this first encounter I anticipated Blake would have feelings. I didn't feel he knew it was "love" at that point, but more that he felt a little bit of empty inside in having to ask the alligator to go away. Even if it was just true genuine pity, it is a deep and strong feeling which can grow into other things.

Perhaps I missed this one at the time, but I certainly didn't think that Blake had any feelings for the alicator until very late on. Did you plan this subplot out in detail, Christopher, or did it change after the first segment when the character appeared?

A non-gag, but the last panel still makes me laugh, in a sad kind of way.

I had to send a delightful gal away. She would not stop taking drugs and I don't take them. Didn't know she was using when I met her, she was just a fun chick of the late 60s/early 70s. A hippie chick. Like Janis Joplin but much prettier. Like Jenny from Forrest Gump and just as tragic. Bright, perky, fun, beautiful and - addicted to goofballs. For those of you who are young, that means barbiturates. I know how Blake felt, but it was all I could do. I wanted to howl at the moon, too. Tried to get her into treatment but she wanted to be free and fun and take her goofballs. They finally go to her, I heard. She supposedly OD'd and died from goofballs and booze. What a waste.
