They have been known to drive people insane and people have jumped headfirst off the cliffs to their deaths to escape the torture of the puri-puri. The bullet ants you mentioned are pretty bad. Did you know they yell at you before they attack, dropping on you from trees? And don't get me started on bot flies, Brazilian Wandering Spiders, Eyelash Pit Vipers, Fer-de-Lance and then there's the gormar scorpion, reputed to be the second-deadliest on earth.
