Poor kids if germ warfare ever occurs they will be the first to go. Mothers used to have chickenpox or measles parties where a lot of kids got together with the diseased ones and all caught it at once. It was said to boost our immune systems. It was also easier on moms who would rather take care of three or four sick kids at once than have to string it out over two or three months. Also, when three kids went to the Dr it was one office call, not three, so they saved dough. When I got mumps mom tried everything she knew, including making my siblings drink out of my glass as well as sleeping together, to pass it around. Didn't work that time.
