Charlie Chaplain was great in slapstick, and people overlook Shakespeare as a great slapstick writer. <i>A Comedy Of Errors</i> was hilarious. <i>The Canterbury Tales</i> by Chaucer was loaded with physical comedy, so as humans we have loved slapstick and other forms of physical comedy for a very long time.
