		<description>@ Nebulous: Back in the late 1960s and early-&#039;70s, we had a neighbor who owned a top-loading combination washer/dryer. It worked pretty well, but it was very slow in the drying mode and it was quite the energy hog. (It used both electricity *&lt;i&gt;and&lt;/i&gt;* gas.) The neighbor still had it when we moved away, but I imagine that it got replaced by something a bit more energy efficient.</description>
