Vachel looked at what was, from his perspective, for all intent and purpose, several dozen murder victims, then just sort of shrugged and put them in the mail. It's debatable whether a human being capable of such a thing would even be able to walk the streets. Certainly not the sort one would consider a good candidate as co-guardian of a small child. It's just a comic strip, of course... This sort of begs the question of who Vachel THOUGHT had killed and stuffed the possums, though.
