Another story was about something that had happened about 30 miles away the previous year. The guy was a storm watcher and his girlfriend had been out in the countryside with other storm watchers reporting on a small tornado. The tornado passed and everything had calmed down, and people were standing outside their cars comparing notes, when lightning struck the girlfriend. She was knocked down and was unconscious for a minute or two, but then got up none the worse for wear. 15 minutes later they were racing for the University hospital because she was screaming in agony. When the lightning passed through her it burned her internally along the paths of her nerves. They had to induce a coma until she had healed enough that she wasn’t in constant agony.

That being said, controlling lightning would be SUCH a cool superpower! Forget flying or invisibility! I want the ability to smite mine enemies and those people who steal my parking spots!

And don’t feel badly, Christopher, my brain always wants to spell it lightening! And it does cause temporary lightening in the sky, so thereyago! ^_^
