I wish this didn’t remind me of the X-Files when a murder victim’s last meal makes Agent Scully hungry when she eviscerates him. Which of course leads to her ordering pizza and discovering, almost too late, why all the other victims also had half-digested pizza in them. A nice bad joke extended to a logical conclusion.

Sometimes you have to be awake so doctors can check to make sure they haven’t done something wrong, as in brain surgery. Or when doing a tubal ligation on a new mother, when she breast feeds. Don’t want general anesthesia in the breast milk.
