The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and tested to see if it can survive a forty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!

We had woodstove in the addition on our house, my dad would bring home old skids and it was my job to tear them apart, pull out the nails and then cut and stack. Like war pig I have fond memories of being the first one up and starting the fire then biking to school, where my classmates wood tell me I smelled like woodsmoke.

After Dad and I dug the basement (a whole different order of work there, the house was still in place so it was by shovel and conveyor we dug it), we had a small door to toss the wood down, then I stacked it along one wall.
If everything was right, we used no gas heat at all during the winter.
During the summer Dad cut wood, and some of the time all us kids hauled it to a trailer or an uncles truck to get it home.
Then I or Dad split it and most of it was stacked by me.
