Like war pig I have fond memories of being the first one up and starting the fire then biking to school, where my classmates wood tell me I smelled like woodsmoke. If everything was right, we used no gas heat at all during the winter. During the summer Dad cut wood, and some of the time all us kids hauled it to a trailer or an uncles truck to get it home. Then I or Dad split it and most of it was stacked by me.
