This comic only has no humor if you take Vachel at his word. But Vachel's already shown himself a complex, contradictory and often openly hypocritical creature. Step on the sponge-cake of his character and you will produce a flat but very funny noise. Think of him here as being serious for once and you cannot help but grin. Because, for all we know, he means it more than he meant it to mean. Oh, no, I disagree. This comic only has no humor if you take Vachel at his word. You could have made him too far either way, but you cut the line down the middle quite well. He is both protagonist and straight man, instigator and foil. He causes auto wrecks so he can feast, yet will sacrifice his pride and more for Dee, whom he loves. As I said, he's complicated and he's interesting, and that is good, and hard to achieve. Congrats.
