I believe the classic/archaic formula is “I do thee wed”. This kind of construction, with the “extra” do and this position of the pronoun, is quite common in Shakespeare, I believe.

As for the match made in heaven… it’s a match alright: ring against elephant!

Shouldn’t that be, “This demagoguery brought to THEE by the letter V.”

“Thee” is the second person singular familiar form, which mostly dropped out of the language sometime after King James had the Bible translated. Knowing it is useful if; one is doing historic recreations, reading pre-1700 texts, dealing with old school Quakers, or just want to know more about how this silly language we purport to speak works.

Thou is the object form of thee. Thine is the possessive. etc.
