It is such a very-fast inner discussion, while trying to hide your expression, when seeing something beautiful destroyed by a child who is trying to express love and doesn’t know the “value” adults put on things.

If I remember correctly, this strip was partly inspired by a scene from “My Neighbor Totoro” where the character May puts flowers (if I remember correctly) one-by-one on her father’s desk while he works.

From the start i wondered: if she doesn’t speak, how would they learn her name? Originally I think I had them looking for her name written on the tag of her shirt, with obvious brief errors in judgement: “It looks like her name is ‘Fruit of the Loom’ .”
