Our cats give me that look all the time. I’ve learned to persevere and merely suffer.
Dogs can do it with those sad, puppy eyes, too. Especially Basset hounds and Beagles. My Shar-Pei could give me “the look” without changing expression (with those wrinkles it’s hard to have a mobile face). She just changed the look in her eyes, somehow. She had several looks; sad/disappointed, forlorn, happy, hungry, love and in pain. Like all dogs, she could also smile and laugh.
Those two breeds must have been bred to have those sad puppy eyes. I know those very well! My first two dogs were a beagle and a basset, and their eyes were sad all the time, even when they were running outside or eating and smiling up a storm!
Shar-Peis have all those wrinkles and yet _don’t_ have a mobile face? Their faces are all movement! :-)
And Ted needs a teddy bear to sleep! Awwww… :-D
