Vachel ain’t fallin’ for no tricks.
This strip was actually inspired by a farmer who told my friend Anya and I that his enormous horse, Aggie, was happy to haul logs around as long as the farmer convinced her it was a game. Aggie, like all horses, was also far too cute when she ate apples.
Thank god I sleep soundly and don’t have such inspirations. I almost feel worse for Vachel that Blake.
On second thought, the glee Vachel gets in it doesn’t look TOO much like suffering.
The two smells can often be mistaken, I’m sure.
And I will be at the science fiction convention “Norwescon” in the Dealers Room all weekend (Thur-Sun), in Seatac WA, so stop by! (sadly, no Book #2 yet, I won’t have it for another couple weeks). And on Thursday and Saturday go-to-guy/author/madman Daniel Wolff will be at my table too! The hours are Thursday 4-8, Friday 11-6, Saturday 11-6, and Sunday 11-4.
I always tell people that I’m not gullible, I’m TRUSTING. It doesn’t make a difference, but it makes ME feel better.
