I think this strip may be inspired by my brother, who I seem to recall often put off getting ready or doing anything until he felt it was finally really urgent. He has turned out to be a very responsible (more than I) wonderful father. Vachel, on the other hand, never did. :)

This is the kind of reversal which I think holds up well, and Blake’s good-hearted earnestness is perfect for it.

I figured that while I was blathering on with the little I knew or could find about Lions, that it would be fun to bring in an expert.
I have little to say on this absurdity, except again how much fun I find this week. Mechanics of it? Well, today was interesting to set up the gag with her looking at the light switch FIRST so that I never had to show her turning it off, and it was also fun researching lions.
Oh goodness, this was a fun week to write. Re-introducing their little stage, bringing the sheep more to the secondary forefront, plus, the whole saying of “In like a lion, and out like a lamb” SO reminds me of elementary school.

I always wondered if this strip was slightly out of character for Blake. Even in his dreams I like to think that he is good.
