I always found this strip particularly dark and cynical. But I do think, as sweet and clever as she is, Dee is a very physical child, and hitting a tree with a stick, to her, is a fine idea.
Sometimes I feel this way, being a cartoonist. Then I remember that I often work very hard and work long hours…. I simply REALLY enjoy it.
i feel kinda bad for Blake here. There is often on child in a family who is the one who takes responsibilities on their shoulders, and it kinda leaves them having less luxuries.
If you’re wondering if I’m talking about me, I thank you for your erroneous confidence.
I played a little with this one, but Blake’s sudden attention in panel two hit the mark, and made it all worth it.
You probably know my sweet tooth by now. First on the list of my county fair memories is cotton candy.
The funny thing with a strip like this, is I find myself falling on both sides. I fall into the adult “fuddy duddy” side of enjoying the peaceful side of nature, and I fall into the forever young and silly side of playfullness.
Sometimes it’s hard to think of the truly unexpected (which is what humor is largely based on), which is yet not so surprising upon reflection; but “fetching” his sword was up there.
Interesting angled first panel for “batman” style drama too. :)
I find that for most people, complaining is like a sport. The topic doesn’t matter, it’s the complaining that matters. Which is why it’s such a problem when things resolve themselves.
I’m a big believer in public property and libraries.
I had mentioned libertarianism (not unkindly) in this blog, and it began building a debate. So i deleted the posts, I don’t think this is the place and I take the blame and apologize for inviting it.
