For this strip I really just wanted to write about my love for the experience of picking berries. Mind you, I don’t like picking more than a dozen or so (and promptly eating them).
I love the idea of moon dogs marking their territory. (And yes, I do realize that he can’t pee outside his suit).
Also, I felt it was important that Dee’s anger, both at being lost and being so far from her parents, which comes out as punching.
I drew this strip before I ever even began running Little Dee. I had almost forgotten, this strip was actually what this entire storyline was based on (although it became it’s own beast as storylines usually tend to do).
Also a fair summary for the strip.
It was so much fun drawing that first panel.
And as much as i feel it is a fine punchline, I’m torn between the lackadaisical comment on panel 1 or the giggle in panel 3 which make me laugh most.
I have nothing to add.
I’m in Minneapolis for:
a SciFi/Fantasy Convention
(but I’ll have Little Dee books and originals with me too)
It’s at the Bloomington Sheraton Hotel. And I’ll be on the following panels on SATURDAY (click here for details):
9:30 AM – Humor Writing
12:30 PM – Prose to Comics
When I’m not on those, you’ll find me in the Dealer’s Room:
- Thursday: 2pm – 6pm
- Friday: 10am – 6pm
- Saturday: 10am – 6pm
- Sunday: 10am – 4pm
And if you show up, you can see (and bid on) the above pin-up drawing I just did in the art show! :)
I remember as a kid being in awe of hypnosis. And I still was for a long time, but now it’s a bit more in theory. I tried going to a hypnotist several years ago to try to quit biting my nails, but I wasn’t very suggestable/receptive.
