It is such a very-fast inner discussion, while trying to hide your expression, when seeing something beautiful destroyed by a child who is trying to express love and doesn’t know the “value” adults put on things.
If I remember correctly, this strip was partly inspired by a scene from “My Neighbor Totoro” where the character May puts flowers (if I remember correctly) one-by-one on her father’s desk while he works.

I like having such a dog specific joke, those funny plastic cones they have to wear. Oh, and sometimes I’ve been the unwanted cheerer-on, sometimes the unwanting to be cheered-on.
I find that being the responsible one can be a really warm good feeling, and sometimes it can feel oppressive.
I often feel this way when sleeping near someone who is awake and doing things. When reversed, I tend to walk in tiptoes in such a case. Others…. I’m not sure if they walk on tiptoes or if my mind exaggerates the noises when I’m half-asleep.
Oh, and I used to bowl on a bowling league as a kid. Fun!

When I’m ready for bed, I find myself agreeable to most things that don’t involve me having to stay up. Just in case you’re in any high-stakes negotiations with me, now you know my weakness.

Odd to think that this is one of the most adult strips in the entire Little Dee series. :)
I enjoy writing nugget jokes like this. The tennis is mentioned in a list of throw-away silliness, but then it shows up again in the punchline. Ah, the craft of humor. I love it.
One of the best ways to handle a question which destroys all your carefully laid plans… ignore it.
