Sometimes when sneezing, it has that paralyzing tensing of all the muscles feel to it. When writing this week of strips, I suddenly pictured how awful it would be to sneeze while stuck in ice — not only the cold, but the absolute inability to move any part of your body while this tense release happens. The thought was thoroughly unpleasant and made me laugh.

This strip, the week in general, was a delight to draw: the random things stuck int he ice, and visual effects, and the totally different perspective of all their common-day things like cupboards.

This is one of those childhood imaginations I still have-or-recall. What if it got so cold the pipes burst and flooded the house and then froze? All your toys and belongings frozen in ice. Inconvenient, yes, but kinda’ awesome! :)
being that i grew up in a two-story house in New England with only one small wood stove as the entire heating system, it was no huge stretch of the imagination either!
I always thought this strip was super-sweet, both her wanting to make Ted happy and the others being entranced by her sweetness (and the desire for pampering).
Happy Holidays everybody. :)
This is perhaps one of the most “innocent evil” of Dee’s actions. And it came (from her/from me) so naturally.

I love that feeling, where everything is so relaxed and serene, that I could just slip off into sleep.
Unfortunately it usually happens during important lectures or meetings.
This strip was a bit of a stretch of the reality (I know, I know, a talking bear, WHAT reality). But it was too sweet and too much fun to imagine vachel going to these lengths to avoid a hug that he KINDA REALLY ACTUALLY WANTS.
Happy solstice.

Thank you Vachel. We didn’t want to know.
This strip was fun to write, because I like decorating my tree by making things. Although I usually keep to stringing cranberries and popcorn.

Because one ALWAYS has dynamite lying around. And whether or not it’s a GOOD idea, it is rather effective.
