I have been very fortunate in that Brian Huisman (A friend of Don’s) leant a hand with Little Dee. It is now easier than EVER to browse Little Dee original Strips which are for sale. He built an entire archive of: ONLY STRIPS FOR SALE. He also helped rebuild the regular old archive, if you wish to see.
Keep all this in mind as the holidays approach. Little Dee books, T-shirts, tote bags, posters as well as the original art ALL make great gifts. AND keep me off the street.
And now back to my regularly scheduled mianderings…….
Since I was already working on the stupidest premise, I decided to work with the stupidest solutions.
Although I like that Ted so casually assumes that Vachel’s lying.
Sometimes fun ideas come from the stupidest premises. If that is true, I definitely was aiming high.
I wonder how much this strip defines the characters. Determination, brawn, and brains. Limiting, but an okay basic go at it. :)
the epithet “monster” is in the eye of the beholder. Especially when the monster is a big soft fish doll.
I wasn’t sure yet what I would do with the stage, but I wanted to include it as I have such a deep affinity for the stage.
Even as a kid I felt bad about trapping any sort of bug in a jar. Even with “grass to eat” they always seemed to be dead by morning.
I think this sort of thing is largely based on personality, but Vachel is the sort who lets you know how he feels. Bottle it up, and the dam bursting will just be all the worse.
Ted’s like me, he can let things go. Brings things up when they feel important enough. Very New England perhaps. Hrm.

Oddly, I think this strip may have been political, referring perhaps (although I don’t recall for sure) to the Bush administrations reasoning for going to war. Hrm.
Anyhow, in my world, it is all about cupcakes.
