Sometimes telling outright lies to bafflingly foolish questions is very hard to resist. Unlike Vachel, however, I always feel bad afterwards.

Odd to think that this is one of the most adult strips in the entire Little Dee series. :)
I enjoy writing nugget jokes like this. The tennis is mentioned in a list of throw-away silliness, but then it shows up again in the punchline. Ah, the craft of humor. I love it.
One of the best ways to handle a question which destroys all your carefully laid plans… ignore it.

I have no idea what made me think of Miss America. Or where I came up with that name. But the scenario deserved a good non-sequitur.
I have nothing to say about this strip except that it’s dang silly and Blake makes me grin ear to ear.
I don’t know which was more fun, having Blake’s howling sound like a siren, or calling him “the fuzz.”
This strip was SO much fun to draw, especially since almost all the humor is solidly dependent on the visuals.
I also liked that Vachel eats spaghetti for breakfast.
Ted never seemed to hibernate too long. I guess he was simply too important to the cast, I couldn’t stand him being away so long.
