Growing up, I quickly learned that if you didn’t want to be stopped, it was best to not mention your intentions beforehand. I’m not sure that was the lesson my parents WANTED me to learn though. Hm.
Easier to ask forgiveness than permission. More fun, too.
“Easier to ask forgiveness than permission.”
A lesson I’ve learned early and carried all through my life.
“No” is such a reflex answer.
“As the days turn face, grow longer?”
@Liptonius, it’s poetic phrasing. Picture the days like little soldiers. The days march forward through autumn, growing shorter. Then at the solstice they “turn face” or turn around, and they begin growing longer.
Having nary a poetic bone in my entire carcass, subtleties like this can escape me without even breaking a sweat.
Best Wishes! Love Little Dee and am an avid fan of Spacetrawler!
That reminds me of a Calvin and Hobbes strip:
Hobbes: Did you ask your Mom if you could jump off the roof?
Calvin: Questions I know the answers to I don’t need to ask, right?
