She’s one resilient kid.
Blake in the background reminds me of something that happened when I was a kid. My brother, my cousin, and I were in a canoe on a pond. We were only maybe 40 feet from the dock, and our parents and our dog were on the dock. We pulled in our oars and started laughing and yelling “we have no oars, save us, help help!,” which our parents seemed to find amusing (as an adult now — i wonder). But our dog, Wiggles, leaped from the dock and swam to the boat. In his mouth he grabbed a rope which was attached to the front of the boat and began swimming back towards shore. We all felt bad right away and put the oars in and paddled back in. What a sweet, strange, loving, guilty memory!

I am so impressed with Wiggles!
As much as I love my boys, I know that if I were ever in trouble and out on a pond, they would think it was a game: “First word – sounds like…’Yelp! Yelp!’…Kelp?”
Dogs love us unconditionally and totally. They allow us to sell/give their pups away yet will die defending us or our children.
“Be kind to man’s best friend, for dog is God spelled backward.”
And a great gift to us they are.
Well, be fair, Ted, Vachel DIDN’T tell her to let go of the kite…
Kids are so random. If she could talk, I’m sure she would start chanting “Again! Again!”
We’ll happily overlook that in reality she’d be quite dead hitting the water like that. Wheeeee!
Hey, don’t question the cartoon physics!
Why would it have an “affect” on her instead of an “effect”?
Wait, if she can say “Wheeeee”, doesn’t that imply that she CAN talk?
