One of the details which still strikes me about this strip is the little heart breaking above Dee’s head. Ted never yells at her any more. She’s so sad!
I also like how this is a total induction for Ted into road trip parenting.

But, Dee wasn’t saying anything. She, like, can’t (apparently hysterical aphonia conversion). It was all Vachel and Blake. But you create the strip so your view, of course, prevails. ;-)
A broken heart needs no words to express itself. But I’m pretty sure that her shrieking was loud enough to earn that “Quiet or I’ll turn this plane around!” from Ted.
Yes, we need more music made from Air Traffic Control callsigns!
“Tacoma apporach, this is Cesna”
“M-S-2-4-4-6-exna!”
“This is approach, I didn’t copy”
“Send squak to see if signal is sloppy!”
“Tacoma apporach, this is Boeing
“Requesting IFR so we can keep going”
“This is approach, is this broadcast in rhyme?”
“We’re tired of being clear, and just want to waste time!”
@War_Pig, in the first panel that’s her going “Eeeeeeeeee!”
@Frank, ha! :)
