I drew this strip before I ever even began running Little Dee. I had almost forgotten, this strip was actually what this entire storyline was based on (although it became it’s own beast as storylines usually tend to do).

@Ronald, well, it’s one of those fudge-slightly strips. Is she talking? No. Is she thinking that? Maybe. Is that a representation of what she is feeling? Yes.
I think this is one of the most heart-rending strips of the entire Dee series.
Somewhereabouts, there is a little blue Alicorn that might appreciate a hug from her.
@Harena, in Dee’s case it is being lost, not abandoned. My elder daughter used to have nightmares about it. “Daddy, I dreamed I was lost and being chased by something, but then you found me and it was okay.” When I was away on duty was the worst for her.
