Same thing with the way raw vanilla extract smells vs how it tastes. As a child I thought vanilla extract smelled wonderful. Then I tried tasting it straight from the bottle………WOW!
Even if they’d been orange slices, a mouthful of the rind… yikes!
Add a dash of salt and lemons taste wonderful.
Yes, I liked broccoli and liver as a kid too, why do you ask? ;)
You know what they say…: A rind is a terrible thing to taste…!
Ohman, Dee’s expression in the last panel is priceless ;D
(And I totally agree with it!)
I grew up next to a lemon grove and will eat them with or without salt. People see me eating lemons, or limes, and ask, “Are those sweet?” And I say, “Pretty sweet.”
Then I watch their heads implode. “Pretty sweet for lemons,” I say. :)
Love lemons, limes, citrus. But then, I’m the girl who peels and eats grapefruit like an orange. Little salt is a bonus, but not really necessary.
