Mannnn…. those seagulls be cold.
I like to call them “rats of the sea,” scavengers that just swoop in and take whatever they can get. This behavior definitely fits that description!
The common places to find seagulls are the sea (natch), lakes and, of course, all municipal garbage dumps – even 1,000 miles inland.
Where I see them close-up is when I visit the boardwalk during the summer, here at the Jersey Shore. If I end up getting something to eat and walking the boardwalk with it, the seagull rule is “watch out!” They’re not above trying to snatch something edible away from a person; they have no fear.
