You were friends with an enormous bear that tucked you in at night?
Why Dee is great.
Reminds me of an MST3K sequence where Joel asked the Bots to draw their ideal families and Gypsy drew a picture of Joel and the Bots…
Maybe it’s just me, but I think she ripped it from The Princess Bride
@Maarvarq, yes! :)
You’ve lost me, @Frank. What?
Really? You always had pretty negative stuff to say about where you grew up, I just figured your childhood wasn’t very happy.
@David, my home town had a lot of good things and a lot of not-so-good things. Like any town I suppose. Mostly it’s the ghosts of bad memories that haunt me. I’ve always been contemplative and hard on myself (coupled with the fact that many social skills never came easily or naturally to me ever), even at a VERY young age, and that is a road filled with nostalgia and regret.
But there is a sweetness, even a sad sweetness, to the memories of the childhood — even the bad memories. Probably mostly until I was about 10.
This strip fills me with glee! (And it was timely since I am having a rotten, no-good day) ♥
