I remember writing this, just fiddling, and writing down some romantic figures, and realizing that the thing they had in common aside from love was tragic death. Made me giggle.

I really can’t see Ted as a tragic romantic hero, if only for his phlegmatic rationality.
Paris and Cyrano both survive their romances don’t they?

The Trojan war was over Helen, and Paris dies in it. Cyrano… I’d say his repressed love was related to his death, though relatively indirectly, but that the play itself is a romance which he eventually dies tragically in.
