Sorry, but there are different sizes of infinity. There are infinitely many counting numbers, but infinitely more real numbers, for example.
It’s true! I nearly failed my Compilers test because I couldn’t remember which was which (though now that I think of it, why were we seeing it in that course?)
Too right.. most folks just think of ‘infinity’ as ‘n = n+1′. It comes in dozens of different flavors, depending on what is needed. I mean, you can work with {the set of all numbers} pretty easily, once you have a knack for it.
Naaaah; one, two, three, maybe four, then Many — that’s enough for everyday use!
The set of all reals AND imaginaries [SQRT(-1) or 'j'] has its uses, but not in most kitchens!
