It took me a moment to understand what a bag of chips had to do with it, but I figured it out.
And you are right. One marker of civilization is access to public bathrooms, ESPECIALLY for middle aged women! Ahem.
Once you are away from home, or even homeless, what are you supposed to do? There’s a reason homeless people are dirty and smelly — imagine trying to keep crisp and clean in the absence of water, soap, privacy and some way to wash and press your clothes or anywhere to store them.
Don’t get me started. Oh, wait…
And will a bear drop a deuce in the woods?
While personally I find public restrooms exceedingly discomfitting, Yes, there need to be more of them. Not everyone is as socially awkward as me!
Off topic, am I the only one who, when Ted is wearing his suit, imagines him also with a dignified cane? I just seems fitting.
@Splox5, that’s part of how I was raised. It’s one aspect of “small-town socialism”: 1) do business with those who do business with you, and 2) make sure you pay the rent; the water you just flushed isn’t free, you know.
@Lusus, I’m thinking a walking stick with a silver head. Maybe lead.
