   Getting light late and dark early does put the damper on winter fun. As kids, my brother and I would get out a red spotlight (which doesn’t spook animals) and light up the edge of the woods near us. Today, I use a good, telescopic, night vision system and it is much more fun. I watch what all the varmints do in the winter dark.

   I love Vachel’s eyeballs in the last frame! I feel like that in winter too.
