I adore this strip. Nothing to say about it, it speaks for itself.

It is interesting how people will put forth more effort avoiding a task than completing the task would require.
Also known as my “If you put as much work into finishing your homework as you do in arguing with me and/or making reasons why you couldn’t do your homework you would have an ‘A’ in this class” speech.
(To save time, when student “I didn’t finish the homework because….” I just say, “Homework Speech.” Although my students know I’m a fairly soft touch and they can usually get an extension from me.)
Or if you’re sitting and want to pick something up which is a couple feet out of reach. You look around for a long stick, you reach, you stretch, and it takes 10 minutes, falls off whatever implement you picked up, and then you have to stand up and go over and get it anyway.
Or maybe that’s just me. ;-)
“nor pluck clean the ribcage of the fallen” I think is now my favorite phrase EVER.
