When was this strip originally “printed”? I had harbored the vague impression that “selfies” were a relatively modern phenomenon.
@Ronald, 2008, but…. also, it’s not really technically a selfie. The sheep is setting it on a rock with a timer, which is an age old travel/family-vacation move. But Thelma and Louise came out in 1991, and I think they somewhat popularized the visual of taking a selfie (albeit with a Polaroid).
@Ronald, It’s a camera, not a cell phone, so…
But Washington wouldn’t need a selfie because he’d have reporters with big cameras with him.
Also, why doesn’t the spellchecking dictionary of my browser have the word “selfie”?!
