Another expression I’ve always found funny “close only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades.” It was fun putting this extra twist on it. :)
Or as we used to say in the service; “Close only counts in horseshoes and cluster munitions”.
Post WWII Vets said; “Horseshoes and nukes”.
Hand grenades, horseshoes and plutonium, I’ve found.
My father always said “Horseshoes, hand grenades, and flatulence.”
