Parents will do amazing feats when they detect that their child is at risk. One of nature’s mysteries.
So Ted doesn’t think that Dee’s obvious charm over the rest of the animal kingdom extends to piranhas?
@Maarvarq, sometimes people ask where I learned to be so polite. I tell them that if my Grandma ever heard I was disrespectful to someone, she would rise up and strike me down. The fact that she’s been dead some 30-odd years? There are some things that just aren’t worth the risk.
I’m sure the piranhas would still attack her, but they’d feel really bad about it afterwards.
I can empathize with Ted. When my grandson was learning to walk he climbed up on the sofa and then jumped up and down and tried to jump off the edge onto the floor. Even though I was in a leg cast at the time (had surgery to repair an old wound), when I saw him I made it across the room and caught him in mid air. Still dunno how I got over there so fast as I was in a hip-to-ankle cast.
Thoughtful of Ted to protect the piranhas like that.
Also, parents detect the smallest risks for their children. It annoyed me a lot as a child, but of course I’m that kind of parent, too.
