Another musical and a play and Queen Dee, a combo of some of my favorite things.
Dirty honey sandwiches? Is that peanut butter and honey? I can’t imagine regular dirty sauce tasting good with honey.
Ok, now you’ll have to enlighten me: dirty sauce? Please elaborate, I have no idea what that could be.
Love the frowny face on Queen Dee. If she could speak, she would no doubt command “Off with their heads!”
Blake in the hat in the last panel is just the absolute cutest!
@ War Pig & SrPilha: I *think* that “dirty honey” refers to honey that has been heated and had cinnamon stirred in. (I vaguely recall that it was mentioned as an ersatz sweetener for tea back when I lived in Virginia or Tennesee. Anyone more knowledgable is free to correct me.)
@SrPilha: Dirty sauce is a sort of garlic aoli with a lot of secret herbs and spices added, made famous by Ike’s Sandwiches in southern California.I found it to be delicious.
@reynard61: makes sense, but I have tried googling it and have had no luck.
@ War Pig: It may be a local or regional (Western Virginia/North Tennessee near the Cumberland Gap) thing. It was the late 1970s or early 1980s so my memory about it is a bit fuzzy.
I think a day got missed recently. Shouldn’t this have been on a monday?
@Salamurai, goodness. I think you’re right. I will look into it tomorrow and get it back on track.
