I think of this when I buy things online, and some people hate an item and others love it.
I always read the negative comments first, because most of the positive ones are paid shill comments. There are companies who will search media and “correct” negative views of your company/service/product. In many cases the company itself has employees who do it for them. They cruise Pinterest and Yelp and others and pile on positive reviews to try and bury the negatives. In many cases they are successful in getting most of the negative reviews actually erased from the rating site. True, some people give negative reviews out of spite, but I believe the majority, I’d say 75%, of the 5 star reviews are bogus, too.
