It’s important to have priorities.
I’ve always thought it unfair that mice – and dogs – can’t eat chocolate.
For that matter, my dogs always thought I was being selfish when I wouldn’t let them taste any goodies with chocolate.
It was with great sadness when once, at a friend’s house we lifted the 10 lb block of dark chocolate out of the drawer & found about 7 dead mice near the well nibbled corner.
Sadness, because that was chocolate we weren’t able to eat. We figured that the mice must have died happy.
And it was with similar sadness when a bear broke into a backpack while in the Alaskan bush, and ate the entire week’s supply of chocolate for 5 people. Then went off a little bit & rolfed it all back up. Granted it had also consumed one of our group’s supply of beer at the same sitting.
I won’t even start on the dogs vs chocolate stories.
Most animals cannot consume either chocolate or alcohol, & people ask if there is a God.
Beer and chocolate are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
You lower mammals…. not so much.
Dogs can eat carob, a tasty substitute for real chocolate.
Uninformed, the guys once let the MAG-12 Great Dane have a couple of pints of chocolate milk, then locked him in the waiting room of the MARS station and toddled off to the club (in Chu Lai RVN, on the beach.)
They got to clean up the mess when they got back, but our big buddy survived (with chagrin on his face for not holding it, po’ baby!)
