People who take things very literally can be terribly annoying. Or so I’ve been told, as I generally take things fairly literally.

Yeah, that’s one of the fun things with humor is the subtle surreal. A noise you expect to hear, but if you think about the situation, it is out of place.

Huh. “refrigerator logic.” Flaws you only realize later at night when standing in front of the refrigerator. I’ve never heard that term, but I like it. :)
Hitchcock coined it. Of course, it was a bit stronger in his case since the people had to leave the cinema, return home, take their fancy going-to-the-movies clothes off, and then go to the fridge.
