This strip came out of me wondering: a full audience standing and applauding is a “standing ovation,” .. or is it? How many people do you NEED exactly before it is?
I always loved throwing in that gag every great once in a while once everyone had forgotten and weren’t thinking that he is a vulture and eats carrion.
I think this gag hangs on the fact that Vachel points out that despite the gag, you the reader are still bored by it. Hopefully it hangs it well and not by the gallows.

I figured that while I was blathering on with the little I knew or could find about Lions, that it would be fun to bring in an expert.
I have little to say on this absurdity, except again how much fun I find this week. Mechanics of it? Well, today was interesting to set up the gag with her looking at the light switch FIRST so that I never had to show her turning it off, and it was also fun researching lions.
Oh goodness, this was a fun week to write. Re-introducing their little stage, bringing the sheep more to the secondary forefront, plus, the whole saying of “In like a lion, and out like a lamb” SO reminds me of elementary school.
