I remember various kinds of floatation devices from my childhood, and often they had this danger.
Sometimes I’m torn between the two viewpoints.
I think my childhood was littered with these types of “object lessons” in understanding physics.
I have very vivid memories of our family dog hiding on July 4th. It was always rather sad.
I’ve always equated fireworks with war, not sure why. Writing this strip was a fun twist on that thought for me.
Which is why, of course, that motivation is so important.
Then, of course, what I’ve also learned, for some people: so is the rampage.
I was babysitting some kids in the mud, and it totally inspired this. And yes, this is exactly what they did. :)
I like the idea that an umbrella, which protects from water, can also be a boat, to float on water. Like keeping rain from falling up.
As a child (and as an adult) I sometimes find it a better idea to ask AFTER the fact, it avoids people having to say no.
And generally we think Blake is kinda’ a dummy.
