Being a nit picker by trade, there is a difference between “bus” and its plural “buses”, and “buss” and its plural “busses”.
Vachel has got to be one of my favorite characters of all time. Being a curmudgeon knitter myself, I can definitely identify with him.
@John, according to my dictionary, both buses and busses are accepted plural forms of bus. :)
If you ever need to use “buss” in plural, just go with “des baisers” After all, everything sounds better in French, and “buss” is the present tense of “baiser”, at any rate
@John, I forgot to say Thank you. I actually do really appreciate editorial feedback.
@Frank: mais oui … you shouldn’t try this (using ‘baiser’, the verb) at home with an frankophone, unlesss you’re really sure what you wanna talk about … ;-)
Hint: embrassser (‘to embrace’) is nowadays ‘to kiss’. ‘Baiser’ got shifted a little further, more explicit.
