   Vachel is such a jerk. A *funny* jerk, mind you. But a jerk nonetheless. (That’s probably why he’s my favorite character so far.)

   The trickster satisfies us by doing the stuff we’re tempted to do, but kind enough not to. :)

   So true, so true, Christopher. Much as the court jester could make fun of the king and not lose his head. Vachel also lets us feel better about ourselves. We can think; “I’m not THAT big of a jerk”. Vachel can be a good, bad example.
