Reminds me of the cartoon about the little elephant who wanted to go to America. He was rejected until he was told by a wise, old, bird to paint himself pink, whereupon everyone would deny they saw any such thing. Worked, too.

The Somebody-Else’s-Problem Generator is a small device, powered by a single flashlight (or ‘torch’) battery, which was used in Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy to convey practical invisibility to, for example, a stolen starship parked on a cricket pitch. Everyone saw it, but it was up to someone else to deal with it.This is quite separate from the Somebody-Else’s-Problem Machine, AKA a leaf-blower, one of those noisy gadgets gardeners are expected to use to make their employers’ lawn look neat, while blowing the dust and rodent droppings into the neighbors’ windows. Los Angeles County banned them for a little while, but it just didn’t catch on. Turning them around to suck everything into a bag for compost would have made more sense.
