I had just read “Treasure Island” for the first time and was blown away by how good it was. This was my little tribute. Robert Louis Stevenson is a rock star in my book.

The book is almost always better than the movie/s based upon it. If you have not done so, read Jurassic Park. I read the book before I saw the movie and I prefer the book version. The movie was made politically correct while the book was not. Also, the T-Rex was much more sinister and threatening in the book.
One exception to the rule is Moby Dick. Overall, the book was still better, but devoting an entire chapter to naming and explaining the workings of the rigging of a sailing vessel just to show off is ridiculous.
The OZ books were loads better than the movie, btw.
All too often the book is _much_ better than the movie; for starters, the pictures are better!
