   ..yeah… that kind of thing has come back to bite me so many times, I’ve learned to reassure people only with things that are true, even if they’re only technically true

   But sometimes being only partly right is enough. If the person you’re trying to comfort really needs reassuring, they’ll latch onto it. No need to say more.
