As you can see, I have reprinted the four “Little Dee” books as two 8.5×11 thick anthologies (too many to put into one book). Pretty, bigger, and the strips are 7″ wide (they were 6″ in the previous books). At TopatoCo get ‘em while they’re hot!
Today’s strip was a bit of me mocking myself for loving using silly sound effects. Recently in Spacetrawler (my current comic) I drew a space stopping quickly and used a sound effect like squealing tires.
Silly.
This gag was led up to all week, by the fact that these are the first words to come from the Turkey’s mouth. And those first words being so outrageous. Not sure if it works, but it certainly had thought put into it.
As a child I remember that when everyone came over for Thanksgiving, that the puzzles always came out. Puzzles create great opportunities for not having to talk (and still be a part of things) for those moments when you need that.
One of the things I enjoyed about writing Ted is his understatement. he could’ve flown off the handle at vachel, but setting another place at the table is such a quiet statement, which says EVERYTHING he wants to say.
